Description

Just to say Merry Christmas to everyone and hope you all have a Wonderful Holiday! This is the one I tried to render in Reality and after 36 hours of cooking still looked awful so I just went with Firefly. I'm guessing my computer is still too anemic to handle Reality. Dawn and Virtual World's Faces of Africa are from Hivewire. NS Base Expressions and NS Smile for Me Dawn are by Nightshade from RDNA. Diamond hair is a DAZ product. Bokeh2 Background by Pennykay and the Large Hoops for G2 are freebies.

If you learn how to set up the lighting properly and you'll need an ample set of lights, something global, not just a few, then the textures will look great and you could end up with a Poser4 style render looking just as good as Firefly or Reality in just a few minutes and you'll have more time to compose your scene and you could test render more often. For example a good texture for her skin will even take care of her glowing nostrils. Looking at this render I would say you're using probably 4 to 7 lights which is not sufficient to exploit the textures on your character. Just a tip... don't throw heavy objects at the critic... and have a wonderful Christmas.

I've tried Reality a few times, but haven't been really excited about the results, either. I'm sure I need to spend a lot more time with it, and try some of TwiztidKidd's suggestions. Like I don't have enough to figure out already... LOL

Merry Christmas. I don't think you are missing much by not using Reallity. One detail I read is that to avoid ridiculous render times your character should keep his/her mouth shut. Otherwise the reflections inside the mouth will take forever.
