Description

Happy Birthday, my talented friend !! You are an inspiration to me. A play with acrylic inks, blown with a straw and drawn with a nib, and then probably some fineliner. Great fun to do. I'm not so good with the blowing through straws thing nowadays, less lung power!

Wonderful creation, Andrea:) I do love this a lot! I never used this technical in a painting. I let go the inks often...but never blew them ! I think that your control in the shapes and colors is fantastic, but i understand the breath's problem...:) Your image is very creative and with a great result. A fine piece of art, that I am sure that our dear Helle, will adore ! Happy Birthday Helle:)

Some interesting creatures floating among the sea grass. Very creative and a neat idea using the straw.

Now this is one of those pieces that has a double life: In display size, it's a tangle between two creatures, and the blow-elements really stand out: It's wonderful. In full view, it's a whole complex painting, where the blow-lines pan out to be a great big watercolor. A really complex abstract! A delight, and perfect for helle (who I see loved it). Also, you did all kinds of details, with lines, segments, and concentric circles---one can see where you get your predilection for edge work in the digital realm: You really go at segments and concentric lines, topographical lines, etc. And I love the color contrasts. (And I didn't know there was such a thing as "Sargasso". I thought it was the name of a resort---for, like, paramecia. I had to look that up!) (You know what "paramecia" are? Two mecia.) (Sorry.) (Also, that's what you say when you leave a good friend: Ie, "I'll mecia...") (I'll MISS ya???? Ya gotta keep up here, the jokes come hard and fast...)
