Richard, you couldn't have given a more serene and beautiful vision for New Year's. Nor a more "Richard-like" either. You do many styles, and all of them beautifully; but there's something so like 'you' in this quiet sweeping piece: low sweeping land, beautiful contrast with that mound in the foreground, the deep dominating sky, the clouds imitating the sweep of the ground---you just sniff these things out, and you give them to us with your special touch, like acts of grace. Wonderful. Happy New Year to you, and I wish you great inspiration and joy in 2017. Your offerings are wonderful all year round, and I'm very grateful (whether I'm online to comment or not---I see everything even in my weeks of absence). Many thanks, and a great New Year to you.
