Happy New Year 2017 !!
Ancient Romans considered male genitals bearers of good luck and wealth. In the foundations of every important building or of a bridge they carved the image of a penis as a good luck talisman, and legionnaires wore chains with small penises, winged or plain, as a luck charm hanging from the neck. Similar bronze objects hung from chandeliers in the form of tintinnabula (small bells) and their silvery sound chased away the evil eye. So here's a Roman luck charm for you, found in the foundations of a Roman castrum (military camp).
