Description
We've had a lot of snow in the last 24 hours - this is a view of the street in front of my house this morning.
On January 1, the new year greeted me with a hard drive crash. Fortunately, it wasn't my primary system drive. Unfortunately, it was the drive that contained all of my photos & all the software I use for graphics. Fortunately, I had a current backup on an external drive. Unfortunately, the restore software is extremely slow & somewhat flaky (prone to hanging & crashing). Fortunately, I persevered & after two days, I was able to recover all of my data onto my new drive last night. Hooray!

that's quite a topsy turvy few days you had...I'm glad you were able to recover everything in the end; computers just don't make it easy to get there. As for the shot---this is a really unusual shot for you, and I'm hard put to say why. It's nearly two toned, it's almost all sky, and it has a plainness---I mean that in the best way, as in simplicity (ie, not dullness)---that isn't typical of your posted work. I really like the low feel of it, and the blue tint, and the contrasts of snow and dark facades (and fences). And the bright wintry light in the sky. It's got a quiet magic. A fine, peaceful winter capture.

You live in a most attractive street. You describe a nightmare, I have often wondered how I shall feel if that happens to me. I am totally incapable of doing anything about the recovery you describe!

Actually, this is the house across the street from our house, as seen from our house. But our house is fairly similar & is cozy too!
