Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

A lovely display Marilyn! As I am getting older, the shoe fetish is diminishing!

I'm the same as Carin.! I gave all my 'Fu..-me' shoes to a friend who can still remain upright on 5" heels, and now I maybe DO have too many flat ones. I seem to live in what they call 'Approach' shoes or walking boots in the winter, and flip flops or sandals in summer. I love this pic.

Splendid capture of this most unique and imaginative light arrangement, M. Cool combination of color, light and shadow. And, I've been giving many of my shoes to charity.

I know we need to talk, I know you had a wedding---of your son---and you must be glowing. I haven't written a whole lot of letters to people, but I was very aware that the wedding took place. And I want to congratulate you, and I will write one of these days as well. I'm very happy for you and for your son (and his wife).
This looks like it could be Chicago, but it's definitely an upscale shot, with a huge high heel shoe made of coat hangers and lights. The background is more upscale fashion-avant-garde-store-design. And your light is golden-red, which contrasts with the deep yellows. A night image with intense light. and with all that black---black being loved by avant garde window designers, using it as a "color statement"---it definitely looks like a posh place. An old girlfriend used to stop at every shoe store along Michigan Ave (and off M.Avenue too), and I always thought she was crazy. But now I get it. There's a lot to look at and wish for. Love the shot.
