(When Rod---RodS---says, "Hope the dream can survive the next 4 years...", he's talking about 4 years of Donald Trump! I hope we can survive ONE year of Donald Trump! It's gonna be an 'interesting time'...)

I read several of the comments, above, and there are many interpretations of this image. To me, it can be all of the interpretations (I think your image is complex enough to communicate several things at once). I see a man contemplating a woman; and maybe the woman gives him a sense of true freedom. I can also understand why some viewers see a man wanting to become a woman, deep inside of himself. Or then, maybe this man is dreaming of his woman lover, while he's separated from her; and his dream brings him closer to her, and therefore it brings him closer to freedom. There are other ways of seeing this too...it's a rich image.

Maybe the woman is dreaming the man, I don't know. But you show the man and woman with bars behind them---which feels more like a prison of the mind than a physical prison. And you have two hands, as if this man's dream were being repeated across time---the hands and the green lines suggest, to me, a kind of mental 'echo chamber' inside of him. Like his dream of the woman is reverberating outwards, into the world.

And then, you have that pink 'border' down the center: As if he's looking in a mirror that is split by two metal frames. But maybe his mind is split: We're not sure.

Very finely designed, with more of your abstraction mixed with the human form. And you use green and red and pink so effectively, against the stark black and white of the painting. Full size, it's a big jail-of-the-mind, while his mind wanders off to a loved one. And the black shadow of the man suggests deep thought, as he ponders the freedom of a loved one far, far away...brilliantly done, once more, Yves.
