Description

The top drawing is from my old sketches of Frank Lloyd Wright's masterpieces in Chicago. (I posted the drawing before.) After dentistry, I wanted to mess with it---this is my result. Did lots of comments tonight, and will finish Friday. HAPPY FRIDAY THE 13TH EVERYONE!!!! Mark (please zoom) ----------------------------------

Love the original sketch, Mark - it captures the spirit of the architecture with an elegant simplicity & a minimum of what look like very intuitive & free flowing strokes. The next two negative variations look like scratchboard, which I experimented with many years ago & found to be an extremely challenging medium. I have no idea how the bottom one was derived from the original, but it looks like something out of a sci-fi film or maybe the old Outer Limits tv show & has it's own liquid charms...

Great stuff. I really like the fourth image. Did you draw that one after the meds kicked in?

This is just too cool, Mark! I've always loved Wright's designs - so fascinating, and of course I'd love to live in one of his houses - but waaaay out of the city... Very cool, buddy!

Very nice drawing. After dentistry, one may well indeed be inclined to mess with Frank. There is an element of twisting torment that I've felt a few times in the chair.

Cool four section panel, Mark, with great sketching and variations. At a very quick first glance I thought that was the USS Enterprise from Star Trek on top, rather than a FLW masterpiece. And, I have no idea what the bottom mono piece represents, maybe the cosmos in serpentine turmoil. And, I'm due for dental work in early February.

I think that I may have worked on one of his architectural design homes here locally. many of the designs by master architects have been destroyed to make way for huge multi-million dollar mansions where I primarily worked.

very beautiful ink work and fractal at the bottom

Love his architectural designs, hate the built-ins. Your drawing is superb ... what a lot of work that must have been! And your digital fiddling is fun to follow. Day, evening, midnight, and ... aaaahhhhhhhhggg!! Scrambled Wright!
