Another shot from yesterday's health care rally in Medford. The purchasing of politicians by health insurance companies and drug manufacturers is one of the major obstacles to achieving universal, affordable health care in the U.S. I have no problem with corporations making a profit, but making huge profits at the expense of people's health & lives is immoral & obscene...

This is a good shot for the highlighting---by placement, and those bright reds---highlighting of the sign arising out of a sea of human heads. I also like the band of wood on top (or metal?), and the shadow below it: Basic fine composition. A fine shot of what you're portraying, Claude.
I'm an unapologetic blue-er too, but am much more vocal about it in person and offline in general. I just got so tired of arguments over the years. (In my service days, I was clearly on the left, even though I encouraged everyone I was with, and listened as best I could.) I got tired of it even in aesthetic discussion, except with a few people. I guess I'm tired, period, from the intensity of my work as I get older, and from some personal matters too (sick people, my own health of late), so I just can't bring myself to open those doors online. That's why I'm grateful when you do, with your integrity and heart and intelligence. I'll tell you that death threats are reeeeeealllly unpleasant; they happened esp with religious dialogue, but also with abortion issues (I'm on the left there too). Of course I don't expect anything like that here; but you get gun shy after a while. I'm trying to simplify now, so I can deal with intensity where I'm most 'called' to it; in creativity and most of all those I love. But when I read you, I feel remorse that I don't speak more directly to it. So I appreciate that you do it eloquently and passionately. Sanders had his over-idealizations, but I've rarely seen a presidential candidate with more integrity and humanity; and he's still doing town halls with trump people. Man, if he'd been nominated, he'd have won: A noticeable group of trump people would have gone for him, and It makes me soooo mad that the dem's couldn't accept him all the way, even though I accepted Hillary with great enthusiasm. Anyway, I once again thank you for these, and you can do them anytime. And it brings out a bright fact: Namely, the one good thing about trump---out of very little---is that he's brought out the deep strengths of the other side: I've not seen the left this mobilized in years. And it is the left, primarily the left. (I don't equate every side, when I speak of "getting along"; it may appear I do, but I really don't. I know the deep differences.) Saturday brought tears to my eyes, and I was glad you shined a light on it the day after. Thank you.
