Description
The entrance and exit ramp to our local post office entrance, captured 1/14/17 @ 10:47 am.
Original on top, just for the record.
Just in case this looks familiar, I did post a virtually identical photo some time back, but without variations.

The first image is far the best. Excellent capture of a matrix of sharp shadows.

I remember an image like this, as you say: You handled the shadows and lights beautifully. Great criss crossing, and real boldness to the shadows and lights. And how they criss cross the foot pads---I don't know what they're called!!! the non-skid pads that run across the walkway here: They're in wonderful counterpoint with everything else.
Variation 1 is like a deep freeze that's been softened by an artist. Ice all over, but it's been softened almost like taffy. Fun and beautiful textures. 2 looks like something similar, but with more swirls; and the black and white gives it an etched or "cartoon" look---like this were a frame of a cartoon: also really well done. 3 is darkened, and very intense---the cars are like ghosts, and the sidewalk has become something from the original "The Blob" (the film), about to swallow the cars. (Love it.) More fine work from you. And the last is a dark "the shadow knows" piece, with very deep blacks; where the geometry of your work is really highlighted. You conveyed a lot of fun and sinister 'winks' in this series; and all the variations seem based on a similar underlying vision. Terrific work, Harry, and that original is a standout.
