Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Well, after calling your other upload today "brilliant", I like this one even more, so I guess it's "beyond brilliant". The mix of colors, patterns & textures is fantastic & I love the foot sticking out in the corner. This belongs in a museum...

Wallace and Gromit meet iPad, Mags and Boot.
Very creative. Talk about silk purse and sow's ear.

lol, if this is from lens flare, you might consider a new camera! That's some heavy lens flare! I love the patterns you poured all over this, it's a wild, molded, colonized, current-filled tapestry-gone-wild that took over your living room. And I love the angle too, it crowds everything all the more. And I assume that's your foot? (I always pictured you wearing designer shoes---you did in the past, right? This, on the other hand, is one hefty boot. You ain't messin' around with that baby, I'll tell ya. That would do you well in Chicago. Everything here is alive: Wonderful! And I can't see Rosie in either shot---I just hope she didn't disintegrate from the wild energies...
(Btw Andrea, I want to thank you for your very kind reception of my madhouse piece the other day. I had 3 tales, and I just couldn't finish any of them yet. When I combined the excerpts, I thought, how can I give this to Andrea??? I hoped enough of it was entertaining that it made up for all the craziness. And btw, the paintstroke is a buffoon-like character, and I don't go around shtupping everything that moves, even if some of my characters do. Donald Trump has made it necessary for me to say that! He's poisoned the well. Anyway, thank you for receiving it so well. I really appreciate it.)
