Description

This doodle grew and grew, and suddenly and quite accidently the male figure looked like John Tavener, the English composer. Plenty about him on the web. I happen to really like some of his work, especially 'The Protecting Veil'. I doubt he would have liked any of mine, he seemed to be a serious man! He happened to live in Child Okeford, a village in my county of Dorset, He was born the same year as me, but died in 2013 The females are people we all know, I'm sure. The one at the very front could have the hair I had when I did this, probably my last ever perm! Don't ask what goes through my mind: the whole point of doodling is to empty it! Soooooo relaxing! Give it a whirl! ps. You are most welcome to suggest scripts or whatever for this scenario if you feel so moved!

Rather surreal with the disembodied eye. And there's you photo bombing your own doodle. I agree with the others, outstanding and funny.

Lol, Mark: I didn't even notice you photo-bombing the piece, but that could be you! It's great, because there were two composers with very similar names---Taverner, the Renaissance guy (who this pic is definitely not), and the modern Tavener, whose music I've heard a little of, which your piece has whetted my appetite to hear more of...

Love the random feel of the people, like you pulled off the street 10 minutes ago and told them to pose. The lady in back looks like she's about to jump in that hole, lol. And I love the big eye, the cracked wall, and the cat (or maybe wolf???) with the lonnng legs and gaunt stare. He knows he's in a whacked out doodle. And Tavener looks like a simple but orderly dude, with his short tie and slightly tight pants, and a great expression. (I love the little hair on top!) You pull off these surreal combinations very naturally. And I love the person in front, who seems to say, "hey everyone: Someones watching us!"

Lots of contrasts in the whole scenery and great expressions in all the characters. A lot to see here and it could be part of a humorous tale, or of a real tragedy, YES:)! This scene is spectacular, Andrea. Your drawings are UNIQUE!!! and you are so right about the concept of doodling:)
