Description


Like a dummy, I did not think to photograph the explanatory notes. I was trying to conserve room on the SD card because I would shoot multiple times hoping I would not shake too badly for at least one image. The lighting was very subdued and flash was "not encouraged." So here we have ivory, bone, or wood votive plaques; but we do know the address where this (on left) occurred. Look closely; then look again -- that seems to be a clue as to when this was carved (I mean the style of the characters). Enjoy; thanks for viewing.

I saw the 1260 on the bottom of the one plaque so I can hopefully assume that it was carved or finished then
