Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

I don't know how you draw during meetings! Don't people turn around and say, "are we keeping you from something???" How do you disguise that you're drawing, lol? Anyway, love the characters here; and if the right-most person is "Daddy's girl," she's got some major hairy arms! I thought at first maybe she was wearing a mohair sweater, but no: I think those are arm hairs! Love the things you do with characters. (She's got prickly hairs on top too. Maybe it's a punk look...)
The other two remind me of Grant Wood's "American Gothic" (I'll give you a link.) Love the rock-of-gibraltar presence of the 'matriarch', and the gentle open smile of the man. You capture a lot in your doodles, that lady is clearly the head of this group; and it's amazing you did this while people were talking. Real individuals here. Love it.
(Here's American Gothic, by Grant Wood---I assume you've seen this too many times. I never studied whether Wood was tongue in cheek, or he meant this. The staunchness of the matriarch is seen in Wood's couple... https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/cc/Grant_Wood_-_American_Gothic_-_Google_Art_Project.jpg)
