I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

Very cute glowing leafs! Stunning capture again and I really would like to see another capture of a bigger part of the park to have a bit the feeling like you with many lights around, if this is possible 🤗

Gorgeous shot indeed.

Fun and interesting! I like the internal lights showing the construction of the birds. The branches and leaves are beautiful in themselves - must have been a LOT of work to make them, not to mention the birds! You've really caught the reflexions in the leaves. Keep up the good work! Nice series! :-)

they only displayed five? Well! You should get your money back! Big bold yellow right in the center, and all that beautiful red and gold around. I love the composition. This is a delightful magical series, Carin. With your skills, you managed to make wonderful shots even without a tripod.
(last note: The partridge may have been chosen because it was considered an un-loyal bird, thus representing people's unloyalty to christ, which was one of the big themes of christmas for centuries. ((Ie, we should be grateful, because we didn't do enough to deserve Christ's birth.)) But the pears represented pregnancy---the female body was often painted "pear-shaped" by Renaissance painters, to indicate pregnancy. It was a sexist notion, as if women weren't born for anything else; but the pear still indicated life, so its use in the first verse was significant.)

Nice composition and lighting effects in pic of the partridge in all of its internally lit night time glory, Carin.
