Description

This is a one-off piece by Mavis Hollingworth, craft jeweller/silversmith, who must be 88 now. She was a good friend and Chairman of Dorset Craft Guild, which was a major part of my life for several years. Sadly I lost contact, when the Guild ceased to be. Another view Here

I like both photos. This has more postwork, I think. Dark light and gold highlights...sweet. And your background is textures---decay (I saw your comment on tara's original gourd, about decay; I'm a big fan too). And a light-dark balance. The metal work is beautiful too: I agree with the above. (Btw, when you said the Guild 'ceased to be', I couldn't help think of the famous line, "it has ceased to be, it is no more, bereft of life, it's pushin' up the daisies..." etc. "This is a late parrot...") I have a feeling your place is loaded with art objects galore. Tara and I have fantasized about seeing it one day...
