Description
The Bristol twin engine Beaufighter was a multi-role British WWII aircraft with a crew of two. Used extensively by the RAAF Coastal Command Fleet Arm as a long range heavy fighter torpedo bomber the "Beau" served successfully in it's versatile missions. It was introduced during the Battle of Britain conflict and afterwards was utilized as a night fighter, radar platform, heavy fighter, conventional bomber, torpedo bomber, and anti-shipping platform. Outfitted with four 20mm Hispano cannons in the nose, the Beau was a formidable match for bomber assaults and ground strafing roles. The "Beau" earned its reputation in both the European/African theater as well as the Pacific and Southeast Asian war fronts.
One of my favorite WWII aircraft, looks a bit like a pugnacious bulldog, full of piss and vinegar.
Bristol Beaufighter: Wonderful model available free on ShareCG, from the creative talents of the late Neiwil. Cheers, Neil! Tweaked a bit and texture modified.
Models customized in C4D; set up in Poser; composed, lighted, some texture adjustment, and rendered in Vue6Infinite: touch-ups and any postwork in PS Cs3
