Description
Leaves that dance in the sunlight
full of life
still clinging
while she lies beneath
life exhausted
resting
I thought I heard a bird cry
but maybe it was my own
from the tree tops
or maybe just reverberating
off my soul
while the sun sank a little further
into oblivion
I watched it decending
through the leaves
the leaves that devour my sobs
in order to survive another day
they take in my breath
and give me one in return
Another breath
to whisper into the wind
"I miss you Mom"
