Description

"I'll explain it one more time. It's simple. The knight in shining armor ravishes me, then you eat him. Got it? Good! Don't mess it up this time!" I named this one Dragon Rider. Get it? get it? crap. I need friends. Constructed in Poser, rendered in Reality. Some notes: Millennium Dragon 2.0 is really showing its age. The stock textures suck in Reality. The Bump and specularity maps are absolutely horrible. Would be a huge undertaking to make new ones- something I probably wouldn't be any good at. I do like how the horns turned out though. I'm really pleased at how her hair turned out this time. (all three areas) I'll have to remember how I did it for the next one. Once again, her skin shows a sugar granularity to it. The official explanation from the website is that there isn't enough light. Hell there isn't. I have four mesh lights in this scene! I tried rendering this against various backgrounds, but I think it steals the focus from her, and it really shows how bad the dragon texture is..

Old, maybe, but I still find the dragon texture nice. Real skin isn't smooth. As for her, I love the bulge you've given her belly - very real! She's got organs and some food inside there, unlike most Poser anorectic figures! Keep up the good work! And THANKS for the laugh! The dragon may be a bit dull, but eating a tinned knight? Er, remove the tin can first, please! Got a can opener? :-)

Wonderful in many respects, no need to fret. Thanks for the laugh.

This scene against the black background does work. Sometimes you just need to render long enough to get rid of the noise. Yup, the Millennium Dragon 2.0 does have horrible textures. Sometimes what I do for these kind of textures is to increase contrast and up the bump map a bit and sometimes play with the color saturation to make the texture look a little bit better. I am using Daz and Octane plugin and it allows me to modify these within the texture material node. Not too sure if poser can do that. If not, you can always do those in a photo editing tool and same it as a new texture to apply. You can take a look at 2 renders in my gallery - "Say hello..." and "Buddies =)!". In those renders I edited the T-Rex skin to get a better quality than the default texture.

His horns and ear flaps look nice, though I share your frustration with the overall texture quality of some of the aging models. Oh well! You did a fine job of working with it. And she looks nice too. The black background is fine, I think! But if you did want to try anything else, you could always adjust the depth of field so it's a present but blurry background (to ensure the focus stays on the subject).

I love her hair and her expression / pose. Really fun image!!
