Description
trying an experiment with 'backgrounds' as it were with two creatures Dragon and Robo-wasp. I used a single spot light pointing at the Wasp and let Iray take over. at the 58 minute point I canceled the render because it was still at 0% completed. but when I looked at the result. I was impressed.

If this popped alive any more I would be swatting Robo Wasp away from me! LOL. And that's so strange too. I'm not familiar with this rendering process and the 0% complete status you received so it will be interesting to read what everybody has to say about that. Excellent stuff, Mike!!!

I can believe the render time... I've had a couple renders sit at 16% for hours. I finally canceled the render,and saved the image i Couldn't see how it could get much better than it was at that point.

Yeah, Iray can be funny like that, so can Daz. One explanation I've heard is something to do with a light error. I'll have to research that.

I don't know anything about this process, so can I assume that the line about a third of the way up the image is where the render 'stopped'? Something like that? (Or something didn't finish...) Anyway, I love the dragon with the robo wasp, love the play, and your usual sense of humor. I don't know if you designed the wasp, but I love its design if you did. And it seems so non-plussed by the dragon, like it's not even fazed at all. I also love the 'sugar loaf' mountains (they have these kinds of mountains in parts of China; and if you look at some old Chinese paintings, you'll see those mountains over and over). With lush vegetation and hues on at least one. Delightful and lush. I'm curious how the finished render would have differed...
