Just another Octane test. Not sure why but DAZ iray will not even work for me anymore. Anyway worked this one 7 ways to Sunday but all with the same results. I obviously was resting lighting elements since no Daz lighting gets transfer into Octane. All the young lady's skin looks like sand paper. I have noted I do not have this problem with V4 renders. Maybe it is the Iray textures I have loaded. Maybe I have to enter the Delight textures, or maybe I have not found the correct setting to adjust. Sorry still have not started my commenting on not being able to see my monitor and trying to learn the new program I am sorry. If anyone knows the answer to the skin problem let me know.
Best viewed full size and yes I did some Photoshop work to make the skin less sand papery.

I think it's working out better and better each time! Awesome pose and very sexy! As far as lighting goes, are you using the Daylight option or the Texture Environment option? When you choose Daylight, Octane will create a "sun" and you can drag it around to imitate different times of day (or, to an extent, night). You can also increase or lower the intensity of the sun to achieve different looks. Also, you can import a "sky texture" which will add even more variation and color to the scene, if you see the need. As far as her skin, you might want to check the intensity of the bump map as Octane reads things like bumps and displacement maps a little differently (than Poser anyway; I don't work much with DAZ but I assume it might have the same translation issue).
Also, I use the RedspecSSS shader for skin (I have the Millennium 4 one but they make them for Genesis as well) http://www.redspec-sss.com/shop_skin.html --I think it does a great job of getting most renders started with great skin detail that goes way beyond your average subsurface scattering.

I know that metals transfer (iray) to Reality rather well, but some other stuff occasionally glitches. And i've had to manually build my lighting with emmissives more often than not to make a scene work...in Reality that is.
One thing to note on her pose. I realize you probably purchased the pose, but if she's a lefty archer, where she holds the bow in her right hand, you'll want the arrow to rest on the knuckles of her right hand on the same side of the bow as said knuckles. Were she using a Hun, Mongol, or Japanese bow (the first two used special finger rings to release the string), than the pose would be different.
But, I love what you're doing here. There's some real potential. I've spent weeks on different iterations of a scene tweaking things like you're doing. Like you, I've had scenes that would NOT render in Iray and others that would not render in Reality. Still trying to figure that one out myself.
Good luck.

OMG, Rick! I absolutely love the lighting on this! It's very dramatic, yet gives her skin a warm softness that makes me want to reach out and touch her. But I won't try it, as I'd rather not have her poke out my eyes with that arrow... Can't help much on the skin as I'm still exploring DS myself. But I think I'll take a look at that RedspecSSS shader Jennifer mentioned...

Personally I suck balls where it comes to realistic skin, so I'm no help there at all, but overall this looks good. JenniferRehnay up there sounds like she knows what she's talking about.

I love her expression. She's clearly encountered something she didn't expect to.
