Description

This outfit represents a typical Spartan during the Greek civil war at the end of V century B.C. No armor and a simple cap helm offered visibility and swift movement. He carries the deadly Xyile the short blade of Lakonian army. Finaly the red off shoulder tunic helped to conceal the serious wounds thus not shocking the nearby comrades. Texture for the Olympians, Xyile and scabbard, texture for Poserstyle hoplite Shield and the Ancient Greek cap helmet by me.

So when did they adopt the helm that is commonly associated with the Spartans? And I was under the impression that the javelin/spear was the primary weapon while the sword was held back for closer combat.
