I like how colorful the city is against the gray water. Hard to believe that's the same lake I saw. Both times I was in Chicago, it was 70F and calm, and about as perfect as you can imagine! And the first time they had those palm trees out ... !!!

An unusual & very appealing city skyline shot. I've been to Chicago a couple of times, many years ago & this makes me wish I'd explored more of the lakefront (though the last time I went, there was a huge air show over the lake & there were thousands of spectators lined up by the water's edge). I'd be curious to see how this would look without the trees - any chance you stepped in front of them to get an unobstructed view also?

First of all, before I forget....those are NOT palm trees, Miss Tara, anything but that. Secondly, this shot looks vaguely familiar to me, or is it just my having seen so many of your middle of the winter pics of Chicago, that toddling town? Is that a stormy Lake Michigan? All that's missing is a fog bank. Thirdly, I love the sharp definition, deep to subtle contrasts, and lighting effects in your city fotos. And, it must be nice to get multidigit comments on your postings, a response I never get. Also, I'm having more dental work on February 27. Finally, I assume you're off on another lengthy sabbatical.

Surf's up!! Time to get out the swim trunks, and Beach Boy's cassettes (anyone remember cassettes?), and hang 10! Might be a tad cold if you wipe out, though! 😉

Such a wonderful contrast with the pale water and colorful buildings in the background. A delicious view of Chicago, Mark!

Your lake can sure make some waves!!! As Tara said, I've just seen it nice and peaceful, and yes, there WERE palm trees there. I wonder where they winter; do they have a special resort just for Chicago palms??

That's an interesting contrast between all the rough wild natural stuff in the foreground and the geometric skyline behind. Palm trees? OK, this global warming thing is getting out of hand!
