Description
It's the season for them and there are spreads of them everywhere, but I decided on a closeup. It's actually very difficult to take photos of these flowers because their petals are shiny and reflect the slightest bit of light, so I had to delete most of my photos. In the end I managed to take this photo by kneeling down and casting my shadow over it!

Lighter and brighter digital images can be trying at times, and I cannot tell you how many images I have tossed because the camera has decided how my picture should look.
Sometimes I miss the old 35mm settings, with more manual exposure control.
