Description
Vanitas (Vanity) - I usually do one of these each year. It’s an old, old still life theme concerning the brevity and superficial qualities of earthly life (often with macabre symbols such as skulls, extinguished candles, overly ripe fruits, and insects). Though the insect here is a lady bug - symbol of delight and happiness! Suggesting not all is bleak in this material world. Thanks, for looking, hope you like. Carrara, with Photoshop/Painter postwork.

Very interesting! I have a book in my own art library ( around 700 books ) exclusively dedicated to Vanities. This one is looking like a flemish one, paricularly with the ladybug!!!! One more time : HAT OFF!
