Description
so take care of our lawn!!
I left before 4 AM yesterday and ended up driving 554 miles. I visited with my sister and according to a doctor she probably will have surgery tomorrow to replace the bad artificial hip socket. however the other side is in really bad shape also, so it will need to be replaced soon also. surgery is really difficult for people in their 80's/90's. she is 84.
after I was in Dallas, two people/two intersections did not want to yield to oncoming traffic. the first I had no trouble stopping, but the second one, I was really fortunate being able to avoid a collision. I was worried about traffic behind me stopping in time also but they did stop without hitting me

Wonderful little creatures!
Close calls usually come in threes, so including the stuff falling off the truck on the highway you will hopefully be okay for awhile!

Fantastic, great capture!

I wish your sister all the best and I hope that she is doing the hip surgery well. A fabulous photo, Richard!

Another great shot of your yard guardian, Richard!
I have come to the conclusion that they're passing out drivers' licenses in boxes of cereal... There are SO many idiots hurling 2-ton weapons around like toys. There isn't a day goes by that I don't see several of them just run red lights like they aren't even there. they don't even slow down. You don't know how many times I've wished for a garbage truck to pull out in front of them.

Boy, you really defied the odds with that many close calls so close together! Makes you just want to stay home, lock the doors and throw away the key! LOL! Glad you survived! I hope everything turns out good for your sister! Our bodies sure don't like getting much past 80 do they? Wish I could fine a cure for that! Even if we knew we would die at 100! It would be nice to live a full healthy happy life right up to the end! Oh well, if wishes were fishes, we'd need some might big barrels to hold them in! Excellent image here! Thanks for sharing!

Surgery sucks at any age over 40. I wish your sister well on a good recovery. Living in the country allows me to avoid most traffic. I go into town once a week, but never into the city.

It is very beautiful and very nice!

Great photos, but above all a great wish for your sister!

Great shot! My best wishes to your sister on her upcoming surgery. Your traffic stories just remind me as to why I don't drive - my vehicle would be outfitted with all sorts of offensive materials to discourage stupid drivers
