Very classic, old school illustration. It reminds me of something you'd have seen in an old children's book. The character work is definitely the star here. Have you tried any renders with different angles? Maybe lowering the camera down to the water level and moving it a bit to one side so we can get more drama and see more of your enticing world? Nice job!
