Reminiscent of how my home and carriage house were built. "My traditional New England frame house was built using hardwood beams connected with mortise-and-tenon joints fastened by hand-cut dowels and hand-wrought nails (we call them square nails)." Though my home is not as rustic as this one.

It's amazing. And maybe a little structure fortification couldn't hurt? Just to save it, I mean. The porch roof and floor looks like it's going to collapse. Would be a shame to lose it just to preserve it in its most original form. Just a thought, you know?

Great photo of this cabin, Richard. I've never been able to understand the psyche of idiots that have to get their jollies by destroying everything around them.

Hard to imagine these wooden homes still standing after all the elements they have endured.

Great view of this and the on the right.

Yeah it is amazing how these were built without nails. And terrible that people like to vandalize it. A beauty of an old home, and your photo has real shadow, which makes it feel melancholy and private. And your usual way with clarity and "presence"---the cabin has presence, it speaks to us. I like the proportions too---that cabin is high up on the shot, making it almost float in the shot. A beautiful capture of a very special place.
