Description
a few days after I was in Navasota,TX a teenage aspiring model(mother) was being photographed on a railroad. she moved to avoid an oncoming train, but tragedy struck and killed as she moved in front of another train going the other direction . I crossed the same set of tracks when I was there taking pictures of the old buildings

the rail in the picture is a side rail and not part of the main east west lines

How do you not notice a train?

I was wondering why the person taking photos could not tell her to go the other direction

Oh my God. I'm sorry to hear of such a terrible tragedy, but how goddam stupid can a person be? They were probably trying to get some kind of crazy shot with the train speeding by.

Nice shot of these buildings. Sad about the woman, trains do have a strange way of sneaking up on a person!

Oh, dear Lord..... If you're shooting models in a dangerous environment, you ALWAYS have an observer to watch for things that can cause problems..... Like how do you miss an oncoming train? Very sad for the young lady.
Wonderful photo, Richard! But what a shame to let this elegant old building fall into ruin.

That's so tragic. Being on a railroad track is like being in the street, you have to stay alert at all times because you never know when something big and fast might be coming.

How tragic - I was watching a steam train coming towards me and waiting to take a photo when another train passed from the other direction. Was startled because I never heard it coming - it blocked my view of the steam train as it passed.

impressive capture and except the balconies it looks more like a ruin ☺
