Description

this very plane flew over my house today. I was in my kitchen doing what ever when I heard the beautiful sounding enormous engines singing a song . I ran outside to see it and then put on a shirt and left to the Frontiers of Flight Museum at Love Field Dallas. http://www.collingsfoundation.org/aircrafts/boeing-b-17g-flying-fortress/

It honestly looks like it would take a prayer and a miracle to get this thing off the ground. I sure as heck wouldn't have wanted to be an unfriendly on the ground when it was in action though. Cool shot from the back, Richard.

A very rare view indeed! Must be the coldest spot in the plane. The windows below the rudder - is that a location for remote controlling the rear guns? I've never figured out the design. Lying prone behind those guns must have been very difficult for proper aiming. Any more photos of this in the offing? Keep up the good work! :-)
