An amazing old bird! Great photo, Richard!
Thank you so very much for your comments on the loss of my companion, Diamond! She was a great friend and huge comfort to me for many years. Now I must cherish the memories we created together. I am not alone though. We still have four other cats so won't be visiting the pound just yet, but that is an excellent suggestion! You were very kind to take the time to express your concern. I can't thank you enough!

Looks a bit cramped. For some odd reason I get Jonah in the whale into my mind! It looks narrow and long. I wonder what the capacity is. The bomb in the rack suggests 2 on each side. Then how many along the length? I sure wouldn't like walking that narrow walk way with the bomb bay doors open! Yet, if a bomb hung, it was absolutely necessary or the plane couldn't land - risk of the bomb going off. Thanks for the post! Have any more? Keep up the good work! :-)

I've read stories about how crewmembers would sometimes have to manually release a bomb that hadn't released for some reason. Now, that would be scary as hell.....
Great shot of the interior, Richard.

Nice picture ! Reminds me the scene of the bomb's ride in the movie " Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb " , the 1964 drama film produced and directed by Stanley Kubrick .

terrific light and shadow, and sharpness of detail. You really captured the heavy cloistered feeling, and the sense of having to crawl one's way through this interior. And I love the light in the back. Lots of drama in this shot, and I'm sure that that drama was 'palpable' when people were actually in it, and preparing for a raid. Masterful shot of what I assume is a difficult space to capture.
