Devastation!
Friday I had my camera with me. The amphibious vehicle was gone, leaving this devastation of the Realm behind! Poor quacks! No hide-and-go-see in the reeds, no surprise attacks from behind reeds. No calling from within the reeds. Sigh. Visible are the remaining piles of cut reeds. Most have been raked up and shipped away before I came with my camera.
Enjoy? The quackers sure aren’t! Most are hiding in the white house of quackery!

Necessary. Almost the entire pond was filled with reeds. The work started last fall, but the reeds grew back very fast during these past 2 months, despite snow and cold weather!

I see a bird house on the other bank, or a munchkin home?

The house visible beyond the bridge is the other white house of quackery for shelter. There are 2 of these. :)

Beautiful tranquil scene. Interesting and efficient way to keep the river from being taken over by the reeds!
