A big underside of a deep cavern, lit by phosphorous, and filled with rock formations and fungus and mold and near-lava-filled, flame-filled magma. I love the top heavy nature of the piece, with that segmented ceiling---topped off by a fungus growing off of it (the green stuff). You outline the green stuff really well---more 'halo'. And then the forms stretch and devolve into a big flow of lava on the bottom, with glowing rich yellows, like butter streaked with caramel. Terrific, Mandi. More masterful work from you.
Mandi, I'm almost at an hour in your gallery, and I have to move on. But I think I did 10 or 11 pieces---which for my slow writing is a decent number. Your work is consummate, every piece. If I can get back here before I step down again, I will. Terrific imagination, discipline, articulation, vision, all of it. Just terrific.
