Description
This is the first draft of this piece. I think it has great potential to be a really striking image, but currently is plagued by a few perspective problems. I also dont think i was as successful with the waterfall effects as could have been. I need to do some research on that and try to "see" what waterfalls look like from a far off distance. I wasnt sure how the water would look as it cascades over the edge - any suggestions?
I would really like to hear comments on this piece. How can it be a better piece do you think? Please post suggestions- and i will update the final version soon- thanks for viewing!

This picture is just beautiful.... Would you mind if I used it as my screen saver?

cool postwork!

Fantastic idea, and thanks for rendering full size - it just became a desktop wallpaper! I like the upside-down landscape. The waterfalls themselves look good - maybe some judicious horizontal streaks on the surface of the lake to indicate rapid flow, and a few small rocks along the lip. (Adds contrast and helps explain why the waterfalls don't cover the whole edge.) By the way, the fade from sky to stars is very nicely done too! This one would look great turned into a poster at Kinkos!

Very cool.. the concept is fantastic..and relization is very impressive. Not sure what I would suggest.. maybe heavier waterfall in foreground..but ..that only cause lack of anything else to suggest.

This is amazing...I love the concept. Suggestions? hmmm. Maybe some indication of water depth, it appears that the water is just a flat plane. Also, the thing that SuperDave mentioned about the waterfall not covering the entire edge. Maybe add some ripples or something near the edge to make it appear that the water is flowing over the edge...I have no idea how to implement these things, and the image looks great as is. Nice work!

everyone, thanks for your feedback on this. I think what i may do is try to completely cover that lower left hand ledge with a waterfall, to give the illusion of it being "close up". also, about adding something to illustrate the water depth. i agree with this, but have no idea on how to implement that. Perhaps water pouring out a few holes in the bottom?

My tip is to improve the colors/gamma correction. Cool idea!

Pretty cool idea. Looks good.

the water needs to be falling from the entire edge not just places. and as the water falls, the further it gets, the cloudier and less defined it gets. so its not like its a stright line all the way down, but turns into a cloudy mist type thing.

Unique...what an idea.Terrific!

but if the water was falling down along the entire length of the edge, it would cover up the underside? the waterfalls do need some work, agreed, just not sure where-

I love the contrast between the bright, morning like upper world the jagged dark, foreboding underneath. Very striking.
