Description

this Barred Owl lives at the bog park near me. It was taken after a heavy rain storm the other day. I used a flash to bring the out the red eyes. Thanks for any comments or remarks.

Beautiful and unusual photo. He looks a bit wet after the rain, hence fluffing up his feathers. Nice idea with the flash - doesn't disturb the over all lighting while it brings out the red in his eyes. How close did you get? Interesting he sat still so you could get this photo. Keep up the good work! :-)

There was a nesting box within 10 feet of his perch. The chic's kept peeking out out of the owl box. So many people are watching them I guess he was use to it. It's in a park with in the city so that could be the reason. But it was a great photo op! Gone back several times this week to observe them don't seem to bother the owl's. Can't wait to try and be there to see the chic's come out.
