Description

Bill and I are in Staunton, Virginia, visiting our friends, Willis and Rebecca, and we've all been touring around looking at cool stuff. Staunton is in the Shenandoah Valley, up against the Blue Ridge Mountains. We took some pictures yesterday morning of the Blue Ridge, but the light was wrong, and we both threw up our hands and said, "no good." You'll just have to trust me that it's beautiful here, for the time being. Hopefully later in the week we can get some better pictures for you. Today I went to Sunspot Studios with Rebecca. The people at the studio were nice enough to let me take all the pictures I wanted, and apparently I wanted about 180 shots! They even encouraged me to move things around if the composition didn't suit me. I didn't move much, on the theory that the less I touched the less likely I was to break anything, but it was nice to be welcomed. And yes, I did buy a small piece before we left. They had a bin of glass marbles in a place that didn't get any direct sunlight, and I liked the rich, moody colors.

this is a fantastic photo! I love how the minimal light plays on the marbles.
I see this as a giant 6x4 image on the wall AND as a 2500 piece jigsaw puzzle.

Beautiful glass abstract. I know that I visited the Blue Ridge mountains with my parents when I was young, but honestly don't remember anything from that time. Hopefully, I'll get to see them again at some point & maybe some of your photos in the very near future...

Ooooooo..... Shiny! I LOVE these marbles! The semi-metallic sheen is just to die for! I want to fill a tub with these and wallow in them... 😛

OK - sorry for THAT visual, but I just got caught up with all those lovely tones and reflections. You know how I am about glass things! LOL This is lovely, Tara! Glad you found these!

This looks very spacey. Great highlights and I think we can see a bit of Tara reflected in some of these.
