Description

We visited the Thornrose Cemetery in Staunton, Virginia, today. The main entrance is a massive lychgate attached to the office. I got a few shots of the cemetery side of the lychgate, but the sun was in the wrong place, so you'll have to settle for a link to someone else's photograph if you want to see it. Thornrose Cemetery Again ... the picture in the link is not mine, and I lay no claim to it. It is for your reference only. The photo credit contains a link to the photographer's bio page, if you're interested. After driving through the gate, the road climbs between two hills, which are spanned by this bridge. It's a beautiful cemetery, founded in 1849. I'll be posting a view of the bridge from the top as well. It's quite a structure!
