Someone found the thin spot with a Zamboni... (That's the simple explanation - now for the technical...) Another multi-render wonder: 5 renders merged as layers in Paint Shop Pro 1) cloudy blue sky, 2) clouds-only (black sky), 3) snowy mountains and clean ice (no sky), 4) snowy mountains and snowy ice (sorta-surf with 100% frothiness and surf density), (no sky) 5) snowy mountains and stormy water. Cut & pasted #3 into #1. Added #2 as transparent layer & megred. Added #4 as layer and clone-brushed into layer #1 with varying transparencies to give snow-drift effects on the ice. Used lasso to free-hand a chunk of water to make the hole; cut & pasted hole. Again, used part of #2 to add fog rising off the water hole.
