Description
There is a challenge on Flickr about what it was like when one was 17, and whilst I was searching my old books of prints I remembered taking this picture in 2015 (When I was most definitely not 17). I messed about making it look old, but the horrible plastic bath tubs give the game away! The original is on RR Here.

I like this in sepia very much! It gives the shot an old-fashioned feeling, despite the newer boats.

The small beached boat is a wonderful symbol to go with your narrative. It is reminiscent of sunny days sailing on the bay until, as you put it, “I became both achy and priced out of the hobby.” I also was a sailor for a time but now I get my kicks riding motorcycles.
The article on the visit of H.R.H. Margaret was a very interesting look into a formal world that has largely disappeared. I wonder what ever happened to the Golden Hinde?
