Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Happy Easter to you and Tara! Nice to see these. My first guess was San Francisco, so Wash., DC surprised me. Nice to see the old late 19th century buildings refurbished. The colors make me think of all the colors associated with Easter. Thanks for the eucation! Keep up the good work! :-)

It was certainly worth stopping in the heat to get this shot! Thanks for doing that so I could enjoy the view in comfort later. :) :*

Nice neighbor. Well done

A colorful row. Interesting how the peaked roofs are just shallow facades backed by what look like flat rooflines...

I have to say I like the change. A wonderful shot. I had to zoom to realize these are brick buildings. On the west coast they would be made of wood. Sounds like you and Tara are having a great time.

Yeah, in zoom these are so detailed. And with your usual sense of detail and balance and finesse. (Finesse is another form of "fine-ness," after all.) The play of strong light against strong shadow is beautiful; and the rather muted tones of the pic make these facades like a quiet procession: Lined up for neighborhood review, but a private review, intimate...Your composition gives us the biggest tree to the left of center; balanced by the big facades to the right. And the cars fit right in ,even though they're of a completely different age. (And yes, we have dirty cars in Chicago, lol! One, I coaxed out light in shots like that; and two, in those neighborhoods, people have lots of money, so they tend to keep their cars cleaner. I'll get some dirty cars for you...) Cropped to case-in all the layers. Beautiful shot of this beautiful neighborhood. I picture your trip surrounded by monumental structures, and a huge museum. This was a wonderful contrast. Great to see you here again, Sir B!
