Description

We arrived in Washington DC on Saturday, and spent our first afternoon getting groceries and turning in the rental car. No need for a vehicle in this town, since public transportation is outstanding! Yesterday we spent a little time at Union Station, which is only about three blocks from where we're staying. It was a fun afternoon, but it was 88F, which is too hot to be walking around! It's supposed to be in the mid 70s today, and we'll be going out shortly to see some sights. I think today is a museum day, which is a nice break from carrying big cameras around. Bill is really liking his lightweight Fuji. I'm sure you can imagine the conversations! LOL!

An architectural gem. Your composition draws me right through all the arches...very European in flavor. Nicely done.

Well made photo, nice with the symmetry. Figures show how big the station is. Beautiful late 19th century monumental architecture. And, can you believe it, some 1960s politicians wanted it torn down for a more "modern" looking mess! Thank goodness the mess they made of New York's Penn station raised such a ruckus so the modernists had to go packing! We have a few of these beauties still around - Grand Central in New York, Washington DC, Chicago, Philadelphia. All were threatened by these darned modernists. Thank goodness they were saved! Any more photos from this station you can post? I'd love to see more of it! :-) And a "Hi!" to Bill!

I look at this photo, and think to myself, "This is soooooo Tara!" Your photos are always a delightful journey for the eyes. This is great - I love perspective shots like this. I get lost in 'em!

As perfect a shot as there is. The symmetry is only slightly broken by the pools of light on the right but even that is counter balanced by the figures on the left. Outstanding in every way.
