Description
Oh I wish I could go back to those days when it was common to have a visit in the cockpit of a jetliner. One of the last time was about 20 years ago on a trip from Frankfurt to Toronto. I was on the jump seat in the cockpit of a Boeing 747-200 from the Lufthansa for at least 20 minutes, enjoying a talk with the first officer and the flight engineer. Those where the times, when some of the jetliners didn't yet have all these glass cockpits and the crew consisted out of 3 people upfront. I always enjoyed that most of all the airplane traveling. How ever I never met such cute pilots in the flights I had a visit in the cockpit (lol). As soon as 9/11 happened, the cockpit doors remained closed - forever (although no single Airplane was ever involved in this tragic event - and that's something I'm absolutely convinced about, since there is plenty of evidence for me)! Lots of boys and girls nowadays will never ever get that experience or can smell the fragrance of adventure, I could in my young days in those cockpit visits. What a bummer!!
This is an IRAY-Render, which ran for about two hours (then I had to stop it) and it still is grainy in some areas.
There is no post work beside the clouds in the window which i had to add after the render cause the background image came out to bright (or otherwise the whole scene would be too dark).
First officer is Angel from P3Design (@ DAZ) with the Tamara hair from 3D Universe (@ DAZ)
the Captain actually is Priya from Saiyaness (@DAZ) - nice arm and hand, isn't it? :-D
The Clothes was a bit a mix 'n match to get something similar like a pilots uniform (Probably someone should do a airline pilots uniform for Genesis3). ;-)
The mesh and the textures of the cockpit it self was originally from an Airbus A320 for the Microsoft Flightsimulator X (it was a heck of work to get it into DAZ-Studio, but the results where so rewarding, that I started to do the Cockpit of the Boeing 737-800 as well) :-D
Any comments are highly welcome (oh and never mind of my statement about 9/11 - it's just my opinion)
Cheers

you did a good job on this one :)

HOLY COW!!!!! You could easily pass this off as an actual photo - this is amazing, my friend! And my oh my, what a gorgeous co-pilot! She can fly my Inspire 1 any day!
Yeah, a lot of things changed that September day in '01. Mostly not for the better. In that aspect, I think the terrorists accomplished what they wanted to - to change all our lives, and not in a positive way. Very sad.

nice job on this

Wow! I thought the cockpit was a real photo! Excellent job! It also explains why there's no visible edge between the co-pilot and the rest of the image. Yes, I remember when passengers were invited to see the cockpit and crew "in action" (feet up on the instrument panel, eating a big double sandwich - that was Swissair, 1965!). Now you can scarcely get into an air port! And yet, the bad guys are the ones working behind the scenes (baggage handlers smashing baggage, ain't that terrorism? In what condition will I get my baggage on arrival, if at all?). Keep up the good work! :-) My rating - a 6 + !

Oh your opinion is quite relevant indeed !
A lot has changed since that horrific day along with the many other incidents on board in the past few years.
Just lately a string of fights in the aisle-- imagine-- this is totally mind blowing to say the least.
Also some airlines are not letting passengers take their devices on board, including cell phones-- What is This World coming to ! !
Compared to open cockpits and children sitting on the pilots knees pretending to fly the plane has long gone, shut out forever like you say.
Children can only look at pictures and imagine like way back when, someone like our family lived in the country nowhere near a huge airport where big planes flew in and out of. Sad, Sad.
Thanks for sharing your awesome DAZ Artwork it looks like a photograph.
The co-pilot is gorgeous and all the bells and whistles look so real.
Amazing colors, lighting and intricate details, great job !

Truly delightful! Today you'd need a cutting torch to get into the cockpit!

nicely posed .. think that will be the reason they keep you from entering the cockpit ..... it is for getting rid of the guys not willing to go back to their seats ;-)

I often use business flights and I want to say that there is a list of airlines that are worth using and those that are not. The quality of service is completely different. For example, I always have frontier airlines customer support with me in case I don’t like something during the flight. I quickly call them and the problem is often solved.
