I like these boots. I have found, however, that the fancier the boot or car or person, for that matter, the more maintenance is required and the less reliable the thing. As a result I wear the 'plain Jane' style in your second image. No frills, comfortable and reliable.

I prefer the more utilitarian style boots as well - usually military surplus combat boots

How fun! :)

Before we left Texas, I bought a new pair of walking shoes. Imagine my delight when I got them out in the sun and discovered they have sparkly bits! :)
