Description
the museum had heard of this model being in a club somewhere out in the SW USA an it was for sale. they were able to purchase it and here it is .
notice the modeler had even included new aluminum to repair battle scars

Oh, my! Was there a war in the SW USA? Cool with the aluminum "band aids" on the wing. I wonder how they got it to the museum? By air mail? Or by picking it apart and Federal Express truck (can't really trust the Post Office with a package of that size!). Looks like the enemy has been taking pot shots at the white star on the side. I just can't imagine a club having such a huge mascot (must cost a lot in insurance!). Very interesting photo, particularly as we see the upper wing surface. Keep up the good work! :-)

Wow - someone put a lot of work into this amazing model! I've seen videos on YouTube of some pretty amazing scale models. One guy even had an SR-71 with actual turbojet engines.
