I would love to own a big old brick warehouse like this. They just tore one down in town. An old movie theater from the early 1900's too. Somebody had a club in it for a while. I think St. Luke's Hospital is going to build some offices there now or something. Great shot, Richard!

I wonder if those windows originally went all the way to the ground...

An impressive building that has probably a lot to tell about all those who spend part of their lives in it.

Another shot where I would say you took a difficult subject---a defiant wall, almost asking us to stay away, stretched across a desolate patch of land (with rusted old RR tracks), with but a sliver of a town on the far left---and turned it into a statement, a whole 'presence'. It really has presence, Richard. The detail---so usual to your work---along with your unerring sense of composition and even drama makes this a really arresting piece. I chose it as one of the images to comment on tonight because of what you did with this ornery, inhibitive subject. Beautifully done...you captured the very frozen, unapproachable feeling of this behemoth, with total allegiance to what it is, with no apology, and no effort to beautify it. And the long sweep to the right is balanced by that snippet of town on the left...with a sleepy, hazy sky that feels like its dozing...A real moment caught in time. I think this is terrific.
