I've always seen these birds as very serious and somewhat ungainly until they take flight. This is a superb capture of a mother at work.

Brilliant, there should be more places like that Jeff, I live around 2 to 3 hundred yards from the RSPB headquarters at the lodge in Sandy, and they are doing a lot to attract the Nightjar back there to breed, there has been one seen there thus far. I love that fact we are waking up to the damage we have done to our wildlife.
