Description
The first thing that I do always is to sketch out the scene that I wanted to do. Ofcourse I sort of knew how I wanted to pose both models that I had already worked out their morphs, but was still not sure as to the camera angle. That took some time doing, and would change as I tested renders. Lighting was done before adding the props to ensure that the light hit the right spot. Then the background was a real mish-mash of products from Daz Studio.
Clothing was tough... I had already picked out what Bunny Girl would wear once I saw SMAY's Slinky Suit for Gen3 for her boots and pants. Top was from Oskarsson's Future Clothes that I had picked out much earlier. I redid with iray shaders.
Alex's base figure was Gen3, shape morph and texture from Mousso's Delilah. I used Zev0's ageing morph to make her look older and a bit to muscle and vein morphs to make her a bit tougher. Her clothes were finally decided when AEONSOUL came out with scifi pants in Proxy Outfit which fit nicely with lilflame Small Distraction top.
Once everything was in place, several further I-Ray test renders were done to allocate the best look for the angles the girls were positioned and also the camera's area of focus. Tweaking of lighting was done too... and after several "final" renders... again... (lol) the end product was out.
I had to photoshop it a bit to put in the grime and weathered look to the premises and elevate the richness of the picture and also to put in titles...
I hope that this little note on the making of this pict was informative and helpful to some.

Nice ! Interesting that you sketch first. I would load just the character, do a rough pose and then play with the camera angle to see what looks best. Then build rest of the scene around the character/characters using that camera angle. I think that would be a bit faster. But each one of us our own creative process :) and yours gave you great results. Splendid render.

There is no hard and fast rule... sometimes I tend to also play around with a product and suddenly I get a great idea... but I generally tend to want to know what it might look like from a sketch or doodle.

I tend to use reference photos to spark an idea, then I go from there. It can make for some interesting pictures once you get gong that is nothing like the original idea. Very interesting set up on your pic.

Yes I know what you mean. It is movies or trailers too that sometimes spark ideas, but generally I tend to imagine my piece and at times sketch or doodle.

Dear Ertle, guiband, rajib thank you so much.
Most of the reference photos are sort of already in the subconscious I think as I have seen a gazillion by now from famous artists to photos and film scenes... OK my age must be telling by now, and that is why sometimes I just doodle and something comes out of it... at other times... I know what I want in my head and I try to make a skeleton of the shape of things.
There are times when I do what rajib does and just play around with a load up.
Thank you for viewing.
