Description

At an elevation of 14,179 feet (4321.8 m), it is the second highest peak in the Cascades and the fifth highest in California. Mount Shasta has an estimated volume of 85 cubic miles (350 km3), which makes it the most voluminous strato-volcano in the Cascade Volcanic Arc. on a clear winter day the peak can be seen 140 miles away in the bottom of the valley. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Shasta I took this photo from a bridge many miles south of Shasta with a telephoto

Yupp! It has'ta be Shasta! But I didn't care much for the taste. Beautiful photo. Lets hope it remains dormant for eons to come. It's so beautiful, can't have a Mt. St. Helens accident again, can we? Keep up the good work! :-)

Wonderful shot. It's good to see that much snow on the mountain. The last two times I've been there it was almost totally bare.

Shasta is perhaps the most beautiful of all the NW volcanos. There are wonderful summer trails, waterfalls, and maple leaves as large as two hands.

I love these kind of in-depth photos where you can stretch your eyesight after you stared into a monitor too long. They're good for the eyes and thank you for this photo, I greatly appreciate your work.
