Description
This is a bird of upland places and moorland. They seemed to be numerous on the rock paths in late April. Not always easy to approach though in open countryside. This is a female, the male having a black mask around the eyes.

One of my most favourites of the Chats and Warblers. I remember seeing one of these many years ago in Northumberland, wish we had them in Beds.
