For more than 20 years I have worked as a technical writer and commercial designer. My primary focus has been on print and Web design and I'm just now exploring the many incredible tools that exist to create 3D work. My main tools are Poser and Clip Studio Paint, which I use to create comic book style line art. I am also published an Origins Award winning Wild West game called GUTSHOT (see www.hawgleg.com for more info).

Well composed scene and lighting, so you can put out a fire with a hatchet ?...probably when you have a space zombie implanted on the end !
~Cheers~

Hah! Now that's an image I'm tempted to create. Seriously, though, I strongly suspect hatchets and tools will be part of any futuristic "ship" because they are needed to break open doors, sever power and gas lines and things like that. Whenever I see the "gritty, lived-in future of Star Wars or Aliens, I suspect there are hatches, wrenches and hammers in all the tool chests. Not so much in the "clean" universe of Star Trek.
